Big Birthday Weekend Day 1

When you only turn 3 once, you bring in your WHOLE entourage!  We had an EPIC big birthday weekend planned.  We kicked it off by picking up Nana, and Aunt Janie from the airport, quickly followed by Tracie and our favorite cousin Allie Gray!  Now that we had most of our people in tow, we headed down to Memorial City for the girls first trip to the American Doll Store.

The were pretty delighted to just play with the dolls on display inside the store.  We knew we weren't leaving anytime soon!

Someone got lucky enough to take a Doll home.  You have to be at least 4 to take one home  (or so I said!).

Lillian was just as content to hang out in the Willa girls tent.

And Allie was busy taking care of ALL the babies and their pets. She was serious about the pets!

We also got to take a spin on the double decker carousel.  It was a pretty fun ride for the girls and I can't say the adults didn't enjoy it a little also!

After lunch the girls ran around in the town green.  They were the cutest little dolls in the village with their American girl doll and knee socks!  We had to go home and get the boys from school and also gear up for Day 2 of Epic Big Birthday Weekend!  Turning 3 was turning out to be exhausting!

Happy Birthday, Lady Lillian!

Lady Lillian woke up a 3 year old to a room full of balloons blown up by her dad, brothers and I!  We all laughed about how special she is treated as we all continued to blow up balloon after balloon and quietly tip toed them up to her room while she was sleeping.  We all raced up the stairs to be the first to tell her happy birthday as well!  We planned to go to a fancy little doughnut shop that has been getting rave reviews!

You'd never believe she would've picked the pink donut with sprinkles, right?

Then she proceeded to eat the pink icing off the top of it and leave the bread.  I mean, it's a donut for crying out loud!

Her boys weren't sad about our little donut run either.  In all honesty, we were all pretty happy.  Jason and I were delighted with our breakfast egg roll as well.  It's made fresh to order and full of eggs, sausage and cheese all deep fried into deliciousness.

Later we went to a birthday party for a friend.  Nothing is better than going to a birthday party ON your birthday.  At 3 you never even realize the cake and party aren't actually FOR you.

The day couldn't be passed by without making our annual picture.  I love how this little birthday set Miss Marie got us has grown with us each year.  I think it will still work another year or two, if she will let me.  It shouldn't be hard with a cupcake in front of her.

We spent the afternoon in the backyard on the swing with our favorite little 3 year old!  Here's to her best year yet!  Everyday with her is sweeter than the day before!
